Texas Family Psychiatry

description

This project started off just with a website creation but ended up being a complete identity revision. The big keypoints for the client were to come across as natural and Texan.

We started off working on the logo; client specified that he wanted a tree with a parent and child nearby so I illustrated what he wanted.

After that, we created a website design that resembled a Texan sunset. The website itself has a custom CMS and file manager so the client would be able to make updates on his own. We wanted the home page to look like a landing page to tease the viewer into reading more about the company, get a quick look at the office hours, and see the 5 most recent "news" events. we added in some stock photography to help but a happy face to psychiatry.

The client then requested a new stationery system that used a Neenah Classic Crest paper. This happened to be good timing for the new stationery system as the client was about to move to a new location and had just got a new logo. We created a letterhead, envelope, business cards, and appointment cards. I then took the liberty of formatting their patient forms into a style like the letterhead to make them look more professional and to make sure the clients did not edit the document before printing it (as they could do this with a WORD doc).

This company wanted a high tech look, so we used bright colours and tech looking lines and circles to make this feel, in addition to high contrasts in the design.

File Shoppe

The owner wanted a very clean, corporate look to their cards so I made this cards almost completely type based. I did use a trail of sqaures to show movement or "exchange" as this business's website was abouting sharing files online.

This is a trifold brochure for an oil company near Austin. The panels are about the size of a sheet of paper each. We gave the design structure and clearly distinguished the different products with a strong grid and colour distinction. We created icons that were an abstraction of the products to bring some interest to the designs so they were not strictly type. The rounded boxes and use of the font Sansation were already established with the brand but I bumped up their potency by colouring the boxes and adding a tinted background to the specifications.

description

I started this project by designing the website first. The previous design had a lot of different colours used and repeated information in many places and despite this, the information was very hard to find. It previously also crashed a friend's web browser making it impossible to view the website.

I used the idea of a lot of colours but in a more tamed means. Each page/ section has a different colour scheme. The navigation bar helps keep all links easily findable by viewers instead of the previous hidden links. The website has a java script to hold unlimited photos to flash by on the home page. The use of stock photography helped bring a sophisticated class that the website needed.

I then moved on to improve the printed pieces with strong hierarchy in the typography. The postcard shows more structure and adds a classy style to the feel of the club. The general club brochure shows a unique semi gate fold, with a offset half fold inside of that to reveal the days and time events take place. The VIP brochure has a V fold to allow the center image to pop up and stay raised when opened to enhance the VIP prestigious feel associated with the subject matter.

I wanted to carry on the multi-colour theme from the website to the stationery so I ended up using all of the colours in a rainbow fashion; considering the club is considered a 'gay club' I did not have to worry about symbolism being wrongly attached to the rainbow effect. The envelope is one colour on the outside with the ability for the client to print out stickers with a small rainbow to be adhered to the front. The envelope's inside reveals a rainbow effect to add energy and flair to he envelope. The business card shows the implied shape of a martini glass with the typography.
